Effective Meditation Techniques to Attain Enlightenment Told by Enlightened Masters

According to Enlightened Masters like Gautam Buddha, Ramana Maharshi, Vardhman Mahavir, Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Krishna etc. It is very important to achieve the state of Enlightenment ( Nirvana/Moksha ) in this very life because the human birth is a rare opportunity to transcend the circle of life and death. So they have given so many Meditation Techniques to attain Enlightenment in this life but one thing is to be understood that you have to quit all your addictions to wordly things otherwise any Meditation Techniques will not be of use for you. So let's know all proven Meditation Techniques which are told by Enlightened Masters themselves.




Meditation Techniques to Become Enlightened

So here I am going to describe few effective Meditation Techniques that will surely push you to reach the Ultimate truth. These techniques are used by many Enlightened Masters themselves and after they become Enlightened, they preach these techniques to all humankind. It doesn't matter either you are a Man or a Women. These techniques have no concern with the gender and anyone can do this to be a self Realised Master.

1. Transcendental Meditation


Transcendental meditation, how to do Transcendental Meditation

This Technique is developed by an Indian Mystic Maharishi mahesh Yogi but this technique is already written in Vigyan Bhairava Tantra by Shiva ( Hindu God ). Transcendental means to go beyond the life and death, to go beyond the inhale and exhale, to go beyond the pain and pleasures and find Pure Bliss and Ultimate Peace.

How to Do Transcendental Meditation

  • Sit in a comfortable position. ( Sitting Position doesn't matter, just sit comfortably on a chair or on the Land )
  • Close your Eyes
  • Choose a mantra or any Image of God to Focus on.
  • If you have chosen a mantra then remember it that mantra is not to be repeated by mouth, is to be repeated by Mind. If you have chosen an image of God then simply remember that image all the time when you sit for meditation.
  • Whenever you realise that your mind stopped focusing on mantra/God and gone too far of other thinking then immediately come back.
So this is the method of this Meditation and if you are wandering that what will happen by focusing on a Mantra/God then it is said by Ramana Maharshi ( Enlightened Master ) that when your mind is focused on a mantra/God then other thoughts will cease to rise and after that this one thought of focusing will automatically disappear by itself and you will experience the Pure Bliss of Realisation.




2. Sleep Meditation

SLEEP Meditation, Sleep Meditation by Buddha, Guided sleep Meditation

This is to be practiced while going to sleep. It is said by Ramana Maharshi and also by the Shiva that at the time of sleep the inner being is Revealed. This sleep Meditation will help you to realise the real nature of your being. This Meditation is also written in Vigyan Bhairav Tantra and also told by Bhagwan Ramana Maharshi.

How to Do Sleep Meditation

Ramana Maharshi says that it is always realised by us that while we are sleeping our Ego (Sense of "I" ) is no longer there in the deep sleep but when we wake up then this come back again. It is said by many Enlightened Masters that this sense of "I" is false, it is the only veil between God ( Realisation ) and us. So when the Sleep is overtaking this Ego then the inner being is Revealed and you have to be aware when this happens. If you are able to aware at that moment then you will discover the eternal bliss. So this technique says that constantly be aware of breath while sleep is dominating your i and don't let your consciousness to disappear. Krishna says that everyone is sleeping but Yogis (Sage) are always awake. That doesn't mean that a yogi never sleeps, he sleeps but his consciousness/awareness is never lost like us. Buddha has said to his disciple Ananda that when his body is sleeping he is still awake in the core of his being.




3. Gazing Meditation

This Meditation Technique is used by Meher Baba to attain the state of Enlightenment. This technique is also written in the Vigyan Bhairava tantra of Shiva. This is very effective Meditation that can immediately stop your mind. It is like pause button for your mind and Self Realised Masters says that when your mind attains the state of no thinking then the light of knowledge dawn in to you. This is the most simple Meditation technique in which you just have to start Gazing at any one object without thinking that it's beautiful or ugly etc. According to shiva you can look at the sky and just start Gazing. Don't look at the clouds just look beyond clouds. You just have to look and start Gazing. It doesn't matter that where you are looking at, the main thing is in your Gazing without blinking. Blink as less as possible. The perfect Gazing will stop your thinking immediately and Gazing will lead you to the No mind state.




4. Be Undisturbed

It is said by the Ashtavakra and also by the Shiva that be Undisturbed in every situation. It's not a meditation but an effective way told by Hindu God Shiva to reach the Enlightenment without any Meditation. On the other words, It is a 24 hour Meditation in which you have to be aware whenever disturbance arises in you. Whenever greed, Anger, Lust and feel of sorrow arising then suddenly be aware that to whom these emotions are arising. Ramana Maharshi used to say this always that be aware of yourself. His self inquiry technique and shiva's this Technique are the same. Whenever Anger comes, suddenly be aware and be Undisturbed by anger and by other persons. Remember this that do not suppress your Anger or any other emotions, just be Undisturbed by them and the emotions will automatically disappear by itself.




5. Third Eye Meditation

Third eye Meditation, Third eye Meditation techniques

This technique is used by Lao Tzu and Shiva. This Meditation technique will center your consciousness to third eye and then simply all thoughts cease to rise and Ultimate truth is Revealed to you. Lao Tzu used to say that meditate on your Toe, Lao Tzu chooses Toe as his center and shiva Chooses third eye as his centre. But the technique is the same because both ways will lead you to the focus on one thing. It's the same Meditation technique like Transcendental meditation but in this case you are choosing a part of your body to Meditate on. To do this Technique just sit in a comfortable position and start Meditating on your third eye. Meditate on Between the gap of your both eyes. Remember that All these methods are to make you center on one thing, it doesn't matter whether you Meditate on a mantra or a God or on third eye. The main thing is that you are centred and all thoughts are ceases to rise.



6. Darkness Meditation

It is written in the Vigyan Bhairava Tantra of Shiva. To practice this Meditation technique one must be fearless first. Many peoples so afraid of Darkness and loneliness but these both are necessary to reach the eternal bliss. Being loneliness feels like one is useless to society but Enlightened master says that don't think like this because after Enlightenment you will find that there is no one exist except you. Enlightened master says that there is no one to help and no one to be a helper. So to do this Meditation, you have to sit on a dark room with lights off. There must be complete darkness around you. Don't close your eyes, on the contrary open both of your eyes Without blinking and then by and by enter the darkness and become one with the whole. Shiva says that by Gazing at the Darkness, let this Darkness enter in you and become one with you. This Technique was used by Socrates to enter into the Cosmic Consciousness. He once was lying on the land by Gazing at a star in the night. And then suddenly the star disappears and Socrates becomes one with the whole cosmos.
